Synopsis (via Goodreads):

Ebony, Eris, and Emani Robertson have been through so much more than most high school freshmen. When they were younger, they survived a school shooting that killed their friend and left their oldest sister unable to speak. After giving homeschooling a try, they enroll in a promising new academy, hoping for the best.
The Robertsons soon discover, however, that their new classmates are anything but kind. A mysterious group of bullies known as the Dimes rules the hallways and spreads fear everywhere they go. All three sisters end up being targets of the gang and have to find a way to defend themselves. The triplets couldn’t be more different, but their loyalty to each other and to their school never fails. Along with diverse group of friends, the Robertsons do everything they can to uncover the identity of the Dimes and restore order to the school.
As if their lives weren’t complicated enough, they also get sucked in to a much bigger game – discovering who was responsible for the attack on their old school. Can they bring down the Dimes and bring the murderer to justice, all while trying to make it through ninth grade?

My review on Battle of the Bullies by Fenyx Blue
Before starting Battle of the Bullies, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. I just knew the synopsis sounded interesting, and I wanted to try it out, but I definitely wasn’t prepared for the wild ride ahead of me. This book blew me away, and kept me hooked until the last page. Full of complex, three-dimensional characters, and an addicting plot, Battle of the Bullies is the perfect read for any day. All the powerful themes and messages discussed in the novel kept me thinking about it long after I finished reading. Another thing I adored in this book, was the relationships between all the characters, and how they were never easy, or as they seemed. The contrast between the triplets, but the way they still looked out for, and cared for each other, heightened their already distinct personalities to the next level. All their pasts were incorporated into the storyline seamlessly, and never once felt redundant to the plot.
Another thing I want to talk about is just the basic plot of the book. It’s unlike anything I’ve read before, unique, and definitely packs a punch. Simply the way the plot progresses, and gradually unfolds, draws you in. Battle of the Bullies was full of heavy themes, and the fact that they were handled with so much care, and described so poignantly will move you, and indubitably bring tears to your eyes. Although I couldn’t, I know many others would relate to all the events taking place in Battle of the Bullies. Even though I didn’t find myself doing so, without spoiling anything, I know that events like this take place all the time, making the sisters’ stories all the more heartbreaking.
Overall, Battle of the Bullies is a story that will stay with you long after the book is done. Highlighting topics such as sisterhood, and finding friends and family in the unlikeliest of places, who will stick with you till the end, it’s a heartwarming read, full of emotion, and will not fail to make you teary-eyed. Although it’s a novel about teens, and written for teens, older readers will also be haunted by this beautiful, yet horrifying tale about battling bullies and racism.
