A Very Late December Wrap-Up

I can’t believe we’re FINALLY at the end of this super hellish year!! Here’s hoping that 2021 isn’t as bad as the chaotic state of affairs 2020 was!! I just want to say that these wrap-up posts are getting exhausting to format, and I can’t remember half of what I did at the end of each month, so these posts are probably missing a ton of details!!

Books that I finished reading this month…

  • Serpent & Dove: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [5/5 stars, review will be up soon!]
  • Siege and Storm: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ [RE-READ – 3.5 stars (for no random reason lol)!! I feel like this book was definitely better the first time round]
  • You Have A Match: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ [4.5/5 stars, review here!]
  • The Henna Wars: ⭐⭐⭐ [3.5/5 stars, review here!]

Books I started reading this month (this doesn’t mean DNF, but just means I started in December, but I’m still reading, and will probably finish in like January or something)…

Posts I published in December…

I didn’t watch much in December either, but I *mostly* liked what I watched ✌

  • How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days: AAHAHAH this movie was HILARIOUS and is definitely one of the sweetest rom-coms ever!!
  • Grease (1978): This is like only my second time watching it, and it was fun the first time, but the plots kinda basic so I got bored in the middle…
  • Schitt’s Creek: skjdfdkjskjs you can NEVER go wrong with this show!!
  • Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: I watched this a while ago, but I didn’t remember anything, so I’m working through all 7 seasons again – I’m loving it <33
  • Mulan: Basically a re-watch because my brother wanted to. Lets just say that the animated Disney original was way better.
  • Divergent: My friends and I watched this on Netflix party because one of my other friends wanted to watch it – the books were better ;/
  • The Prom: This was like a musical-esque thing, it was fun.
  • Home Alone 1-5: We binge-watched all the home alone’s, to help us get into the holiday season (:
  • Godmothered: Hahah this was fun and omg so sweet 🥺😭 (everyone is such a cinnamon roll 💖)
  • We’re still in Goa, but we’re going back to Mumbai in the first week of January!
  • I still haven’t gotten my singing exam results…
  • We went exploring beaches, and did a ton of body-boarding, so that was fun (:

Goals from the past month

  • Read at least 8 books ❌ this month was an awful reading month for me 🥺😭
  • Catch up on ARCs ✅❌ I finished some of my ARCs – and the rest of them come out March onwards – so I’m pretty much on track now
  • Keep up with ‘Reader’ ✅
  • Write something ❌ noo!! but hopefully this will change soon because of the project Becky and I designed!!
  • Swim some more!! ✅❌ So I have been swimming, but I haven’t been properly exerting, or stretching myself, so…
  • Workout // Go running in the mornings ✅

Goals for the next month

  • Read at least 8 books
  • Keep up with ‘Reader’
  • Go blog hopping some more!!
  • Write something
  • Workout
  • Focus more in school (!!!)
  • Sort and organize old Notion pages

How was your December? Did you read anything special? Hit a milestone? Are you excited that 2020 is FINALLY over!!? What are some of your goals for the new year? Do you have any special new years resolutions for 2021??

      1. Aw of course!! Oh thank YOU, no worries, I’m glad you liked my posts too! Fitz-Simmons is absolutely one (two? :D) of the best characters, and I really like how Daisy goes beyond her typical archetype. We actually finished the show recently, but I only watched Seasons 1, 5, 6, and 7! 😅 Hope the watching is going well ❤️

  2. I also loved Serpent & Dove, and I agree – How To Lose A Guy in Ten Days is hilarious! 😂 It’s just the type of movie I need when I want to destress! Also, as much as I love the original Mulan movie, I think the new one is better 😁 Very unpopular opinion, I know 😅
Great post, Ahaana, and thanks so much for the shout-out! ❤

I can’t believe you thought the animated Mulan was better! I mean, I haven’t watched the animated one in a long time but I really enjoyed the new one!

  6. ahaana, thank you for sharing my post! loved reading your wrap up as always, everything in your blog is so aesthetically pleasing and enjoyable to read through. also your posts definitely look hard to format – if it’s too stressful, you could always scale it down and simplify a little? it looks amazing as is though so really up to you. honestly i admire how much you blog & how consistent you are about posting regularly. i agree that stats can be quite helpful for understanding how your blog is growing and developing and it looks like you’re certainly getting a lot of engagement. it’s cool to see another agent’s of shield fan – i really miss the show now that the last season has aired and..well it’s really over! i grew up watching it so i feel like i have a lot of memories associated with it.

    1. ahh rachana!! i always love seeing your posts in my reader!! thank you so much 🥺😭 it took me so long to find an aesthetic that i liked and something that wasn’t messy or cluttered, so that means a lot to me!! 💖 ahahaha the post was definitely hard to format, but i feel like it gets easier with every post, because i can copy-paste blocks, and HTML from my previous posts!! omg rachana you’re the sweetest 🥺❤ i’m trying to create a proper posting schedule, and actually have the posts ready more than a few hours before i have to post them,, because everything been kinda last minute the past few months lol! i’m not on the last season of agents of shield yet, but i do remember watching a few seasons earlier, and now i’m just doing a complete re-watch!! it’s so cool that you grew up watching it!! thank you for your comment 💖

  11. omg ahaana, i can relate so much on the time consuming task of writing wrap ups haha, but they are so satisfying and such a great way of reflecting too! and this is such an incredible wrap up! 💕

you had so many good reads this month, i’m especially excited for your review on serpent and dove… i have heard loads about it! and thank you so much for mentioning my post! 🥺 and for all the others as well, i’m preparing for some fun blog-hopping! 🤗

ahh i’m so scared to watch the live action mulan because i have heard some negative reviews about it, and because there is no mushu haha! lovely pictures and all the best for your goals! ❤️

    1. ahh cherelle your wrap-ups are always so elaborate as well, and i just love going through them!! it’s definitely satisfying once they’re done (though the formatting gets SUPER messed up in reader, and thats so annoying!!) i will be reviewing serpent & dove soon; but after reading blood & honey, so i can review both of them in the same post!! i loved reading your post, so it was no problem!! hahaha i hope you have fun blog hopping 💕

honestly, the live action mulan wasn’t bad, and there was a ton of cool CG, and some great acting + scenes, but i just like the animated on better because of all the music!! i feel like i enjoyed the original plot also better, and YES!!! we NEED mushu in our mulan!! thank you so much!! ❤️
